2 Acts to be numbered according to the calendar year
Notwithstanding any law or practice to the contrary, the Acts of Parliament of this State shall, after 1st January 1948, be numbered according to the secular or calendar year, and not according to the year of His Majesty's reign.
A new series of numbers shall be commenced with the first Act passed in each successive year.
Notwithstanding any law, rule of law, or practice to the contrary, for the purposes only of this section and of section 13 of the Acts Interpretation Act 1931 an Act shall be deemed to be passed in the year in which the Bill for that Act is agreed to (whether with or without amendment) by both Houses of Parliament.
