56 Application for exemption
A person may apply to the Commissioner to exempt from the provisions of this Act any conduct or activity which would otherwise contravene this Act.
In considering an application, the Commissioner may have regard to – the desirability of certain actions being permitted to redress the effect of past discrimination or prohibited conduct; and any other factor that the Commissioner considers relevant.
On application from any person applying for an exemption, the Commissioner may permit that person to carry out any specified action or engage in any specified conduct pending consideration of the application for the exemption.
