41 Appointment of independent auditor of financial statements of Auditor-General
The Governor, on the recommendation of the Treasurer, may appoint an auditor who is a registered company auditor within the meaning of the Corporations Act (the "independent auditor") to conduct the annual audit of the financial statements relating to the Tasmanian Audit Office.
The Treasurer is to make his or her recommendation under subsection (1) after consultation with the Auditor-General.
The Minister, the Auditor-General or a person employed in the Tasmanian Audit Office is not to be appointed under subsection (1).
