Approvals (Deadlines) Act 1993
1. Schedule 1 is amended by omitting and substituting:
| Child Welfare Act 1960 | ||
| Grant or renewal of a licence for a children's boarding home or a day nursery | 60 days from the day on which an application under section 54 (1) of the Child Welfare Act 1960 is received by the Secretary, within the meaning of that Act. |
| Child Care Act 2001 |
| Grant or renewal of a licence, an exemption or an approval of approved premises under that Act | 90 days from the day on which the application under that Act is received by the Secretary, within the meaning of that Act. |

1. Section 14(1) is amended by omitting "Part 6 of the Child Welfare Act 1960" from paragraph (j) of the definition of prescribed person and substituting "the Child Care Act 2001".

1. Section 4 is amended by omitting subsection (2) and substituting the following subsection:
For the purposes of this Act, the provision of accommodation for a child as authorised by a licence under the Child Care Act 2001, or by registration as a registered carer under that Act, does not constitute the carrying on of a private medical establishment at the premises at which the accommodation is provided.
The amendments effected by Section 79 and this Schedule have been incorporated into authorised versions of the following Acts:
Approvals (Deadlines) Act 1993;
Children, Young Persons and Their Families Act 1997;
Hospitals Act 1918.
