56 Exclusion of persons from inquest
Subject to this section, a coroner is to conduct an inquest in open court.
A coroner may order the exclusion from an inquest of any person or all persons if the coroner considers that it is in the interests of the administration of justice, national security or personal security.
A coroner may order – the removal from an inquest of a person who disobeys an exclusion order; and the imprisonment of the person for not more than 24 hours if the coroner reasonably believes that the person will continue to disobey the order.
