30 Medical tests for HIV, &c.
The Director may require a prisoner or detainee to undergo a test for HIV or other blood-borne diseases by a medical officer or a registered nurse – as soon as practicable on admission to a prison; and at such regular intervals as the Director may consider appropriate or necessary in the circumstances.
If a prisoner or detainee refuses to undergo a test, a medical officer, or a registered nurse, who is nominated by the Director for the purpose is to counsel the prisoner or detainee in respect of the necessity or desirability of undergoing the test.
