36 Payment of fees relating to seized dogs
The owner of a dog seized under section 35 must pay, within 5 working days after the notice under section 35(2) has been given – any fees in relation to the seizure and detaining of the dog; and the reasonable cost of the dog's detention; and the cost of implanting the dog with a microchip under section 35(6); and any other fees or charges relating to the dog that have not been paid under this Act; and in the case of an unregistered dog, the appropriate registration fee. Fine not exceeding 5 penalty units.
On payment of any fees and charges under subsection (1) in respect of a dog, the general manager is to release the dog to its owner.
