Firearms Regulations 2016

The following are safety requirements for conveying a firearm that is not a prohibited firearm:

the firearm is to be in the unloaded condition;

ammunition is to be in a closed container, completely separate from the firearm;

magazines are not to contain any ammunition;

at least one of the following requirements is to be met:the firearm is to be in a locked receptacle; the bolt of the firearm is to be in a closed container, completely separate from the firearm; the firearm is to be fitted with a mechanism that locks or disables the trigger or action and prevents the firearm from being used.
