The Fisheries Rules 1996 purportedly made under the Living Marine Resources Management Act 1995 are taken to be validly made and are valid as if they had been declared to constitute an interim management plan under section 45 of that Act with effect from 31 May 1996.

4Administration of Act

Until provision is made in relation to this Act by order under section 4 of the Administrative Arrangements Act 1990 –

the administration of this Act is assigned to the Minister for Primary Industry and Fisheries; and the Department responsible to the Minister for Primary Industry and Fisheries in relation to the administration of this Act is the Department of Primary Industry and Fisheries.
