Preventing destruction or contamination of evidence

A police officer, while waiting for an application for a forensic procedure order or an interim forensic procedure order to be determined, may use reasonable force to prevent the suspect or charged person, if in custody, destroying or contaminating any evidence that might be obtained by carrying out the forensic procedure concerned.

Subsection (1) does not authorise the carrying out of the forensic procedure.
