45 Approval of appliances by Director
The Director may approve gas appliances and components of a particular class if satisfied that they comply with the requirements of the relevant standard.
When the Director approves gas appliances and components of a certain class, he or she must – assign an identification number indicating approval of appliances or components of the relevant class; and issue a certificate of approval in respect of appliances or components of the relevant class to the applicant.
If the Director decides not to approve gas appliances or components of a certain class, he or she must give the applicant written notice of the decision not to approve the appliances or components – setting out the reasons for the decision; and stating the applicant’s right of appeal under Part 6.
