Non-appearance of defendant

In force

If a defendant who has not pleaded in writing fails to appear at the time and place appointed in the summons or at an adjourned hearing, the justices may issue –

a notice requiring the defendant's appearance at a time and place specified in the notice; or a warrant for the defendant's arrest.
