Living Marine Resources Management Act 1995

If the Minister approves a draft marine management plan in respect of a proposed marine resources protected area, the Minister may – establish that marine resources protected area; and give a name to that marine resources protected area.

A person, without the consent of the Minister, must not use any of the following terms alone or in combination with other words to name any area which is not a marine resources protected area:marine nature resources protected area; marine park; marine protected area; marine sanctuary; marine resources protected area. Fine not exceeding 50 penalty units.
