27 General functions of councils
A council, within its municipal area, must – develop and implement strategies to promote and improve public health; and ensure that the provisions of this Act are complied with; and carry out any other function for the purpose of this Act the Minister or Director determines.
A council must carry out any function under this Act in accordance with any relevant guidelines.
