Road Rules 2019

A driver must drive to the left of any oncoming vehicle unless – the driver is turning right at an intersection; and the driver is passing an oncoming vehicle turning right at the intersection; and there is no traffic sign or road marking indicating that the driver must pass to the left of the oncoming vehicle. This rule does not apply to the rider of a motor bike that is a postal vehicle, the rider of a bicycle or the rider of an animal if – the rider is riding on a footpath, nature strip or shared path; and the rider is permitted to ride on the footpath, nature strip or shared path under the Road Rules or another law of this jurisdiction; and either – the oncoming vehicle is not on the footpath, nature strip or shared path; or the oncoming vehicle is not permitted, under the Road Rules or under another law of this jurisdiction, to be on the footpath, nature strip or shared path.Bicycle, footpath, motor bike, nature stripand postal vehicle are defined in the dictionary and shared path is defined in rule 242.ExamplesDriving to the left of an oncoming vehicle
