Architects Act 1991

An application for renewal of registration as an architect must—

be made to the Board before the end of the financial year; and

be in the prescribed form; and

be accompanied by—

the prescribed registration renewal fee; and

proof of required insurance; and

proof of CPD compliance; and

a fit and proper person statement.

The Board may require an applicant to provide further information or material.

The Board may—

renew a person's registration, if it is satisfied that the applicant—

continues to meet the eligibility requirements to be registered as an architect under section 10(a); and

complies with the requirements of this Division; or

refuse to renew the applicant's registration as an architect, if it is not so satisfied.

If a person does not apply for renewal of registration as an architect before the end of the financial year—

the Board may renew that architect's registration if—

an application under subsection (1) is made within one month after the end of that financial year; and

the applicant pays the prescribed late registration renewal fee; and

the architect's registration is taken to continue in force for one month after the end of that financial year.

If a person's registration as an architect is suspended, the person must not apply for renewal of that registration until the suspension ends or is revoked.

If a person (other than a person whose registration is suspended) does not apply for renewal of registration as an architect within one month after the end of the financial year, the person ceases to be registered as an architect.
