The Governor in Council may make regulations for or with respect to any of the following—
the times for and method of nominating members of the Board and for submitting panels of names for nomination to the Board;
the election of the Chairperson and Deputy Chairperson;
the procedure of the Board;
the qualifications, experience or examinations that make a person eligible to be registered;
the examination of persons for registration and the standards and conduct of examinations;
the remuneration of examiners;
approval by the Board of applicants for admission to examinations;
applications for registration and approval;

classes of registration;
the Register and the duties of the Registrar;

the issue, suspension and cancellation of, and information to be contained in, certificates of registration and approval;
approvals under this Act;
publication of information about registrations and approvals and cancellations and suspensions of registrations and approvals;
standards of professional conduct and practice for architects;

continuing professional development requirements for architects;

the preparation, publication and implementation of guidelines on professional conduct and practice for architects, approved partnerships and approved companies;

regulating advertising by architects, approved partnerships and approved companies;
notices under this Act;
forms for the purpose of this Act;

fees for the purpose of this Act, including services provided and work done by persons and bodies;
the verification of information in forms by statutory declaration or otherwise;
providing that an architect who contravenes any specified regulation is guilty of unprofessional conduct;

providing that an architect member or director of an approved partnership or approved company which contravenes any specified regulation is guilty of unprofessional conduct;
prescribing penalties not exceeding 20 penalty units for breaches of the regulations;
generally, any matters required or permitted by this Act to be prescribed or necessary to be prescribed to give effect to this Act.
The regulations—
may be of general or limited application; and
may differ according to differences in time, place or circumstance;
may impose different fees for different cases;
may confer discretion or powers or impose duties on the Board, the Registrar or a member of the Board;
may leave anything to the approval or satisfaction of a specified person.
Regulations made under subsection (1)(r) may include regulations prescribing—
fees for applications for registration or approval; and

renewal or reinstatement fees; and
S. 69(3)(ba) inserted by No. 43/2024 s. 61(2).
late fees if a person, partnership or company has not paid a fee required under this Act by the date or time required under this Act or the regulations; and
fees for alterations to the Register; and
fees for copies of the Register or part of the Register or of supplementary list or part of a supplementary list; and
fees for duplicate certificates; and
fees for certificates of qualification issued by the Board.

A power conferred by this Act to make regulations providing for the imposition of fees may be exercised by providing for the reduction, waiver or refund, in whole or in part, of the fees.
