Extension of building permit

In force

(1)

An application for an extension of the commencement date or the completion date of building work may be made in writing to the relevant building surveyor by the applicant for the building permit applying to the building work.

(2)

An application under subregulation (1) must be made before the commencement date or the completion date (as the case requires).

(3)

The relevant building surveyor may extend the commencement date or completion date of the building work prior to the lapse of a building permit if the relevant building surveyor considers that the extent of the building work warrants an extension.

(4)

If any extension is granted under subregulation (3), the relevant building surveyor must notify the applicant without delay—

(a)

that the extension has been granted; and

(b)

the new commencement date or completion date of the building work (as the case requires).
