67A Regulatory exemptions
Safe Transport Victoria, by written notice, may exempt a person from a requirement under this Act or the regulations (other than a requirement in a designated provision within the meaning of section 50) if Safe Transport Victoria is satisfied that—
the person is substantially complying with the requirement; or
the person has adequately achieved the purpose of the requirement; or
the person's compliance with the requirement would, in the particular circumstances, be impracticable, unnecessary or inappropriate.
An exemption may be either indefinite or for a specified period and either absolute or on specified conditions.
Safe Transport Victoria may at any time suspend or cancel an exemption, or alter its period or its terms and conditions, by written notice given to the person given the exemption.
