Change Or Suppression (Conversion) Practices Prohibition Act 2021

This section applies if, in considering a report, the Commission is satisfied that a person or organisation is engaging in, or has engaged in, a change or suppression practice.

In responding to the report, the Commission must as far as practicable have regard to the following matters, to the extent that information about the matters is reasonably available to the Commission—

the wishes of the person or persons affected by the change or suppression practice;

whether the change or suppression practice was a one-off event or a pattern of behaviour;

the number of people affected by the change or suppression practice;

the nature and extent of the harm caused by the change or suppression practice;

any steps taken by a person or organisation to stop engaging in the change or suppression practice or to address the harms caused by the change or suppression practice.
