13 Appointment of authorised officers

The Secretary to the Department may appoint persons who are employed under Part 3 of the Public Administration Act 2004 to be authorised officers for the purposes of this Act.
An appointment must be in writing and may be made subject to conditions or limitations specified in the appointment.
The Secretary to the Department must issue an identity card to each authorised officer containing a photograph of the officer.
An authorised officer must produce his or her identity card for inspection—
before exercising a power under this Act; and
at any time when exercising a power under this Act if asked to do so by the occupier of premises at which the officer is exercising the power.
- 10 penalty units.
The Secretary to the Department may, in writing, vary or revoke an appointment of an authorised officer.
