1 Objectives
The objectives of these Regulations are—
to set out the obligations of persons involved in the transport of dangerous goods over land; and
to reduce as far as practicable the risk of personal injury, death, property damage and environmental harm arising from the transport of dangerous goods over land; and
to give effect to the standards, requirements and procedures of the ADG Code so far as they apply to the transport of dangerous goods over land; and
to promote consistency between the standards, requirements and procedures applying to the land transport of dangerous goods and other modes of transport; and
to make consequential amendments to the Dangerous Goods (Explosives) Regulations 2011 and the Dangerous Goods (Storage and Handling) Regulations 2012.
