If a road vehicle transporting dangerous goods is involved in an incident resulting in a dangerous situation, the driver of the vehicle must—
notify the prime contractor, the Authority and either the police or fire authority (if not already notified under section 32(1) of the Act or section 38 of the Occupational Health and Safety Act 2004) of the incident as soon as practicable; and
provide any reasonable assistance required by an inspector, or an officer of an emergency service, to deal with the situation.
- 11 penalty units.
If a train transporting dangerous goods is involved in an incident resulting in a dangerous situation, the driver of the train must—
notify the rail operator, the Authority and either the police or fire authority (if not already notified under section 32(1) of the Act or section 38 of the Occupational Health and Safety Act 2004) of the incident as soon as practicable; and
provide any reasonable assistance required by an inspector, or an officer of an emergency service, to deal with the situation.
