243 Requiring evidence of insurance etc.
(1)
The Authority may, by written notice, require the owner of a road vehicle used to transport a placard load, or a prime contractor responsible for the condition of the vehicle, to produce—
(a)
written evidence that the vehicle is adequately insured; or
(b)
an approval under regulation 244 in relation to the vehicle.
(2)
The owner or prime contractor must produce the evidence or approval to the Authority within 14 days after the day when the notice is given to the person.
- In the case of a natural person, 11 penalty units;
In the case of a body corporate, 55 penalty units.
