Objectives

In force

The objectives of these Regulations are—

(a)

to prescribe cathodic protection systems and mitigation systems for the purposes of the Electricity Safety Act 1998; and

(b)

to prescribe standards for the operation of cathodic protection systems; and

(c)

to provide procedures for the registration of cathodic protection systems; and

(d)

to prevent damage caused by cathodic protection systems to other metallic structures in the vicinity due to stray electrical currents; and

(e)

to prescribe certain provisions of these Regulations that create offences as provisions in respect of which infringement notices may be served.
