Owner must make reasonable inquiries to locate adjoining owner

(1)

An owner of land who proposes to undertake fencing works and any subsidiary works who does not know the whereabouts of the owner of the adjoining land must make reasonable inquiries to locate that owner for the purpose of giving a fencing notice.

(2)

A municipal council may disclose the name and address of an owner of land if the municipal council is satisfied the person to whom the name and address is given will use the name and address for the purpose of giving a fencing notice.
