23 Notice of final demand

Before taking any action to enforce a registered fine or a registered collection and enforcement order against a person, the Director must serve a notice of final demand on the person.

The notice of final demand must be sent to—
the person's authorised address; or
the person's address provided in the preceding 12 months in respect of a fines application; or
S. 23(2)(ba) inserted by No. 14/2026 s. 23.
the person's address provided in a nomination statement given by the person in the preceding 12 months; or
any alternative address for the person as provided for the purposes of registration.

On the service of the notice of final demand, the prescribed fee is payable by the person.
