165 Issue of stop orders
The Executive Director may issue a stop order to a person if—
the person proposes to carry out, or is carrying out, works or activities in relation to a registered place or registered object; and
the works or activities must be carried out with a permit or exemption under this Act; and
the Executive Director is satisfied there are reasonable grounds for believing that the registered place or registered object could be harmed unless a stop order is issued.
A stop order issued to a person may—
require the person to stop immediately the works or activities specified in the stop order; or
prohibit the person from carrying out the works or activities specified in the stop order.
The Executive Director must cause a stop order to be served on the person to whom it is issued.
