109 Authorisation to acquire, dispose of, store and maintain firearms
S. 109 inserted by No. 13/2012 s. 9 (as amended by No. 82/2012 s. 148(3)).
The IBAC, by instrument, may authorise a senior IBAC Officer—
to acquire or dispose of a firearm on behalf of the IBAC; and
to possess and carry firearms for the purposes of—
acquiring or disposing of firearms; and
maintaining firearms; and
storing firearms.
An authorisation under this section must—
specify the type of firearm to which it relates; and
may be subject to any conditions that the IBAC considers appropriate to impose.
A firearm acquired under this section is taken to be acquired by the IBAC and must be registered under the Firearms Act 1996 in the name of the IBAC.
