72 Contempt of Integrity Oversight Victoria

A person duly served with a witness summons to attend as a witness to give evidence or to produce documents or other things at an examination before Integrity Oversight Victoria who, without reasonable excuse—
fails to attend in accordance with the witness summons; or

fails to attend from day to day unless excused by Integrity Oversight Victoria or released from further attendance by Integrity Oversight Victoria; or

while attending as a witness at the examination before Integrity Oversight Victoria, refuses or fails to answer a question that he or she is required to answer by Integrity Oversight Victoria; or
S. 72(1)(d) amended by No. 31/2024 s. 113(Sch. 1 item 1.115(a)).
while attending as a witness at the examination before Integrity Oversight Victoria, refuses or fails to produce a document or other thing that he or she was required to produce by the witness summons; or
S. 72(1)(e) amended by No. 31/2024 s. 113(Sch. 1 item 1.115(a)).
while attending as a witness at the examination before Integrity Oversight Victoria, refuses or fails to take an oath or make an affirmation when required to do so; or

engages in threatening or obstructive behaviour before Integrity Oversight Victoria; or
S. 72(1)(g) amended by No. 31/2024 s. 113(Sch. 1 item 1.115(a)).
engages in any other conduct that would, if Integrity Oversight Victoria were the Supreme Court, constitute a contempt of that Court—
is guilty of contempt of Integrity Oversight Victoria.

A person who, without reasonable excuse, hinders or obstructs an Integrity Oversight Victoria Officer who is exercising a power under section 13 or this Part is guilty of contempt of Integrity Oversight Victoria.
