Judicial Proceedings Reports Regulations 2018

The objective of these Regulations is to prescribe for the purposes of section 4(1D) of the Judicial Proceedings Reports Act 1958—

the persons or bodies to which information may be disclosed; and

the statutory functions for which the information may be disclosed.

These Regulations are made under section 5 of the Judicial Proceedings Reports Act 1958.

These Regulations come into operation on 1 April 2018.

In these Regulations—

Chief Commissioner of Police means the Chief Commissioner of Police appointed under section 17 of the Victoria Police Act 2013;

Judicial College of Victoria means the Judicial College of Victoria established under section 4 of the Judicial College of Victoria Act 2001;

Sentencing Advisory Council means the Sentencing Advisory Council established under Part 9A of the Sentencing Act 1991;

the Act means the Judicial Proceedings Reports Act 1958.

For the purposes of section 4(1D) of the Act, the following persons or bodies are prescribed—

the Judicial College of Victoria;

the Sentencing Advisory Council;

the Chief Commissioner of Police.

For the purposes of section 4(1D) of the Act, the following statutory functions are prescribed—

in the case of the Judicial College of Victoria—its functions under the Judicial College of Victoria Act 2001;

in the case of the Sentencing Advisory Council—its functions under Part 9A of the Sentencing Act 1991;

in the case of the Chief Commissioner of Police—the functions of the Chief Commissioner under Part 4 of the Sex Offenders Registration Act 2004.
