14 Acting Commissioner
The Minister may appoint a person to act as the Commissioner—
during a vacancy in the office of the Commissioner; or
during any period, not exceeding 12 months, when the Commissioner is absent from duty or, for any other reason, unable to perform the duties of that office.
The appointment is to be on the terms and conditions set out in the instrument of appointment.
A person acting as the Commissioner has all the powers and may perform all the functions and duties conferred by this Act or any other Act on the Commissioner.
The Minister may revoke the appointment of a person acting as the Commissioner at any time.
