46 Requirement for daily drilling report
For the purposes of section 179(c) of the Act, the holder of an authority who undertakes drilling in the authority area must give the Minister a daily drilling report, prepared by a suitably qualified or experienced person, before midday on the day after the day of drilling to which the report relates.
Note
Under section 179 of the Act, a person who contravenes this subregulation is liable to a penalty not exceeding 60 penalty units.
A daily drilling report under subregulation (1) must include—
the authority number; and
the name of the well in which the drilling was undertaken; and
the location of the well using easting and northing coordinates; and
the elevation of the well; and
the drilled depth; and
the work carried out; and
the lithology of formations penetrated; and
details of any indication of petroleum; and
a summary of the material used; and
any drilling fluid losses; and
a leak off test summary; and
the geometry of the well bore; and
the results of surveys made in the well bore; and
details of—
any works undertaken in relation to drilling activities that were not within the scope of the operation plan but were carried out to avoid or manage an emergency situation or to overcome an unforeseen circumstance; and
details of the reasons for those works, any risks and how the risks were eliminated or minimised.
