99 Acceptance by supportive attorney
A supportive attorney appointment is effective as to a supportive attorney appointed under the appointment if—
in the appointment form the supportive attorney signs a statement of acceptance of appointment that is in the prescribed form; and

a person of or over 18 years of age witnesses the signing of the statement of acceptance under paragraph (a), and signs in the appointment form that he or she has witnessed the signing; and
the supportive attorney states in the appointment form that the supportive attorney—
is eligible under this Act to act as a supportive attorney under a supportive attorney appointment; and
understands the obligations of a supportive attorney under this Act and the consequences of failing to comply with this Act; and
undertakes to act in accordance with this Act.

For the purposes of this section, a supportive attorney appointment is effective as to a supportive attorney appointment if the statement of acceptance is signed using the remote witnessing procedure.

For the purposes of this section, a signature may be an electronic signature if the remote witnessing procedure is used.
