Suspension or cancellation of licence
18 Suspension or cancellation of licence
Before suspending or cancelling a licence under section 14(1) or 15(1) the Authority must—
give written notice to the licensee of its intention and the reasons for it; and
give the licensee a reasonable opportunity to make written submissions to it on the matter; and
if the ground for suspension or cancellation is non-compliance by the licensee with a requirement of a Code of Practice—
state what the licensee has to do to comply with the requirement; and
specify a period within which the requirement must be complied with; and
be satisfied that the licensee has not complied with the requirement within that specified period.
While a person's licence is suspended, the person must be taken not to hold a licence.
If a suspended licence is renewed during the suspension period, the suspension continues to apply to the new licence.
The Authority may at any time revoke the suspension of a licence.
