22AK When is a thing done to achieve a therapeutic purpose?

For the purposes of this Part, a thing is done or designed to achieve a therapeutic purpose for a person if it is done or designed—
in the case of a person who is vulnerable to violent extremism—
to address—
the underlying causes of the person's vulnerability; and
other factors which may make the person more vulnerable; and
by doing so, to reduce the extent to which the person is vulnerable to violent extremism; or
in the case of a person who is radicalising towards violent extremism—
to address—
the underlying causes of the person's radicalisation towards violent extremism; and
other factors which may make the person more susceptible to radicalisation; and
by doing so, to have the person become less radicalised towards violent extremism.
Without limiting subsection (1)(b), a thing may be done or designed to address the underlying causes of a person's radicalisation towards violent extremism if it provides for the person to be connected with—
the community; or
a positive support network.
