9 Authorised officers
The Registrar is an authorised officer for the purposes of carrying out investigations under Division 1 of Part 6.
The Registrar may by instrument appoint a person to be an authorised officer for the purposes of carrying out investigations under Division 1 of Part 6.
The Registrar must not appoint a person to be an authorised officer under this section unless the Registrar is satisfied that the person is suitably qualified or trained to be an authorised officer for the purposes of carrying out investigations under Division 1 of Part 6.
An appointment of a person to be an authorised officer may—
specify the powers, duties or functions under this Act or the regulations to which it relates; and
be made subject to any conditions that the Registrar considers to be appropriate.
