Outcome of first assessment
20 Outcome of first assessment
The co-ordinating medical practitioner must assess the person as eligible for access to voluntary assisted dying if the co-ordinating medical practitioner is satisfied that—
the person meets all the eligibility criteria for access to voluntary assisted dying; and
the person understands the information required to be provided under section 19(1); and
the person is acting voluntarily and without coercion; and
the person's request for access to voluntary assisted dying is enduring.
If the co-ordinating medical practitioner is not satisfied as to any matter in subsection (1)—
the person requesting access to voluntary assisted dying is ineligible for access to voluntary assisted dying; and
the request and assessment process ends.
