22 Functions of the Regulator
The Regulator has the following functions—
to administer the WELS scheme;
to undertake or commission research in relation to water‑use and water‑saving products;
to provide advice in relation to determining that water‑use or water‑saving products are WELS products;
to undertake or commission research in relation to WELS standards;
to assist in the development of WELS standards;
to provide information and advice to the Minister about the operation of WELS standards;
to provide information and advice to—
the Minister; and
the Secretary of the Department of State of Victoria that deals with the matters to which this Act relates; and
the public—
about the operation of the WELS scheme;
to undertake or commission research in relation to the effectiveness of WELS standards in relation to reducing water usage;
such other functions as are conferred on the Regulator by this Act, the regulations or any other law.

This section differs from section 22 of the Commonwealth Act.
