21 Guiding youth justice principle—importance of parents and family
(1)
Parents, family and persons of significance in a child's life or a young person's life are to be recognised as having a shared responsibility to help the child or young person to rehabilitate, positively develop and not offend.
(2)
Parents, family and persons of significance in a child's life or a young person's life are to be engaged to fulfil the responsibilities—
(a)
of caring for and supporting the child or young person; and
(b)
of helping the child or young person to rehabilitate, positively develop and not offend.
