Search of area ordered under section 495

Current

A youth justice custodial officer conducting a search of any area within a youth justice custodial centre under section 495—

(a)

having regard to the decency, dignity and privacy of a child or young person whose room or belongings are being searched must—

(i)

conduct the search expeditiously; and

(ii)

leave the room or belongings in as close as possible to the same condition in which that room or those belongings were found at the commencement of the search; and

(b)

must conduct the search in compliance with any prescribed requirement.
