30 CEO having parental responsibility, duties of if not possible or desirable to place child for adoption
If the CEO has parental responsibility for a child under this Division and is of the opinion that it is not possible or desirable to place the child with a view to the child’s adoption, the CEO is to cause notice of that opinion to be given to each person who the CEO believes is a birth parent of the child or who had parental responsibility for the child before the commencement of the CEO’s parental responsibility under this Division.
If the CEO gives a notice under subsection (1) —
a person who had parental responsibility for the child before the commencement of the CEO’s parental responsibility under this Division has parental responsibility for the child; and
any consents to the child’s adoption cease to have effect.
