41A CEO may conduct checks of s. 38(1) applicant
The CEO may conduct any check (including a criminal record check) that the CEO considers appropriate as to whether an applicant under section 38(1) is suitable to be an adoptive parent.
The CEO may provide information obtained as a result of a check referred to in subsection (1) to —
a person appointed under section 40(1) to prepare an assessment report on the applicant; or
the adoption applications committee.

41. Assessment report to be given to adoption applications committee etc.
The person who prepares the assessment report under section 40(1) is to provide the report to the adoption applications committee.
In performing its functions under section 13, the adoption applications committee is to have regard to the information and recommendations in the assessment report and any other relevant information.
