253 Evidence as to authorisations, notices and other documents

(1)

Subsection (2) applies to the following documents —

(a)

an authorisation;

(b)

an exemption;

(c)

a notice given under this Act;

(d)

a code or other document that has been adopted under the regulations.

(2)

In proceedings for an offence, production of a copy of a document to which this subsection applies certified by the CEO as a true copy as at any date or during any period is proof of the contents of the document as at that date or during that period.

(3)

In the absence of proof to the contrary, it is to be presumed that a document purporting to have been signed by the Minister, the CEO or a wildlife officer was signed by a person who at the time was the Minister, the CEO or a wildlife officer, as the case requires.
