255 Regulations: general power
The Governor may make regulations prescribing matters —
required or permitted by this Act to be prescribed; or
necessary or convenient to be prescribed for giving effect to the purposes of this Act.
Without limiting subsection (1), the regulations may provide for, prohibit, control, impose requirements in relation to, or otherwise regulate all or any of the matters referred to in Schedule 1.
Terms used in Schedule 1 item 13 that are defined in the EPBC Act have the same meaning in that item as they have in that Act.
The regulations may provide for offences against the regulations and prescribe penalties for those offences not exceeding a fine of $50 000.
