125 Requirement to surrender
(1)
A wildlife officer may require a person who possesses injured fauna or abandoned fauna to give the fauna to the officer, or to another person specified by the officer, within a period specified by the officer.
(2)
A person must not contravene a requirement imposed in relation to the person under subregulation (1).
Penalty for this subregulation: a fine of $5 000.
(3)
It is a defence to a charge of an offence under subregulation (2) to prove that the person charged had a reasonable excuse.
