38 All demolition work to comply with applicable building standards
The person who is named as the demolition contractor on a demolition permit must ensure that the demolition work to which the permit applies complies with each applicable building standard.
Penalty:
for a first offence, a fine of $50 000;
for a second offence, a fine of $75 000;
for a third or subsequent offence, a fine of $100 000 and imprisonment for 12 months.
Each owner of a building or an incidental structure in respect of which demolition work is done without a demolition permit being in effect for the demolition work must ensure that the demolition work complies with each applicable building standard.
Penalty:

for a third or subsequent offence, a fine of $100 000 and imprisonment for 12 months.
