125 Notice of intention to cancel membership
(1)
Unless subsection (2) applies, the board of a co‑operative must ensure that notice of its intention to declare the membership of a member to be cancelled is given to the member not less than 28 days prior to the day of the cancellation.
(2)
Notice is not required to be given under this section if —
(a)
the member’s whereabouts are unknown to the co‑operative; or
(b)
the amount required to be repaid to the member in relation to the cancelled membership, whether because of the cancellation of shares or otherwise, does not exceed the amount prescribed by the regulations, or if an amount is not prescribed, $100.
