Cross-border Justice Regulations 2009

In section 3 delete the definitions of:

In section 3 insert in alphabetical order:

has the meaning given in the Aboriginal Communities Act 1979 section 3; and

includes an Aboriginal community as defined in the Aboriginal Lands Trust Act 1966 ¹ (South Australia) section 21(9); and

includes an Aboriginal community in —

an area covered by paragraph (a) of the definition of Aboriginal land in the Aboriginal Land Rights (Northern Territory) Act 1976 (Commonwealth) section 3(1); or

land granted to an association under the Lands Acquisition Act 1978 (Northern Territory) section 46(1A), including that land as held by a successor to an association;

means a person who is detained in a detention centre; and

includes a person who is in custody in a detention centre under a custodial order of a participating jurisdiction;

an officer of the Department whose duties include the supervision of offenders in the community under this Act; or

a person who holds office as a juvenile justice officer under section 11AA;
