At the end of section 33 insert:

^1M Subsection (1) applies in relation to the return of a prisoner to another participating jurisdiction only if —

immediately before the prisoner’s release from prison, the prisoner was serving a sentence of imprisonment under a warrant of commitment issued under —

the Cross‑border Justice Act 2008; or

the Cross‑border Justice Act 2009 (South Australia); or

the Cross‑border Justice Act 2009 (Northern Territory);

the prisoner has a connection with a cross‑border region that is partly in that other jurisdiction.
